What is Managed KubeStack+? +
Managed KubeStack+ is Stakater Cloud's full developer platform on top of Managed OpenShift. It bundles ArgoCD (GitOps), Tekton (CI/CD), OpenBao (secrets), Prometheus, Grafana and Loki (observability), Stakater MTO (multi-tenancy), Velero (backup), Backstage (developer portal), Nexus OSS, SonarQube, RHACS, cert-manager, Reloader and IngressMonitorController — pre-integrated and operated by Stakater SRE.
How is KubeStack+ different from Managed OpenShift? +
Managed OpenShift gives you a dedicated, operated OpenShift cluster plus the Red Hat subscription. KubeStack+ is that plus the entire developer platform layer above the cluster — pre-integrated and managed for you — so your team does not need to staff or maintain a platform team.
Can I start with Managed OpenShift and upgrade to KubeStack+ later? +
Yes. Many teams start with Managed OpenShift and upgrade to KubeStack+ when they reach the point where they would otherwise have to staff a platform team. The cluster does not need to be re-provisioned.
Who operates the platform components? +
Stakater SRE. Upgrades, configuration drift, integration health, dashboards, alerting and incident response across every KubeStack+ component are part of the managed service — under the same SLA as the underlying OpenShift cluster.
Can I bring my own GitOps or CI/CD tool instead of ArgoCD and Tekton? +
KubeStack+ is deliberately opinionated — the integrated stack is what removes 12–18 months of platform-engineering work. Custom arrangements are possible for enterprise contracts; book a call to discuss.
How does multi-tenancy work? +
Stakater's Multi-Tenant Operator (MTO) provides namespace-level tenancy with policy-driven RBAC, quotas and network policies. It is suitable for splitting environments by team, customer or product line on a single cluster, with isolation enforced at the platform layer.
Are backups and disaster recovery included? +
Yes. Velero-based backup of cluster resources and persistent volumes is part of the managed platform, with documented restore procedures. Cross-region DR and tested recovery exercises are available on Premium support.
Where is the platform hosted, and is it GDPR-compliant? +
Default deployment is Amsterdam, Netherlands. Stakater AB is a Swedish company operating under EU jurisdiction — no US parent, no US CLOUD Act exposure. ISO 27001:2022 and ISO 9001:2015 certified, with documented controls aligned to GDPR, DORA and NIS2.
What does KubeStack+ pricing start at? +
From €1,500/month for the starter configuration (three Standard nodes plus Standard support plus the full KubeStack+ platform). Add-ons (PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Redis) and Premium support are line items on the same invoice. The Red Hat subscription is included.
Can I migrate from a self-built platform to KubeStack+? +
Yes. Most cluster-level customisations — RBAC, network policies, identity providers, ingress, image policies — port cleanly. We audit your current platform up front and call out anything that needs a non-standard arrangement before migration begins.
